Washers and Pearls and Houses OH MY!

So I had a fun weekend. We spent the night out at the farm Saturday. We had some friends come out and we all camped for the night. Got a wee bit windy and chilly but still a good time. Bret and Ellen brought their washers game so we entertained ourselves w/Margaritas and washers! And of course a big 'ole fire! I think that's my favorite part of being outside or camping or whatever. You gotta love a big fire pit! Here's a pic of Ellen and I at the picnic table - she is reading the new People magazine I just got in the mail. Dustin surprised me by getting me a subscription and the name he put down to be on the cover is "Princess Lori Schuetz" :) How cute is that??
Speaking of my wonderful man, I got my Valentine necklace back today. For those of you who don't know the story, here it is. My grandma was like a second mom to me. I was super close to her and I miss her like crazy every day. She died in 2002 from breast cancer. Well several years ago my grandma had given me a pearl. I had always planned on doing something with it, just not sure what. For Valentine's Day this year, Dusty took the pearl, had it mounted on a sterling silver breast cancer ribbon, and made it into a necklace. It has to be one of the most special gifts I've ever received. Well I had only had it for a month, when one night my mom looked at it and said "Where's the pearl?" It had fallen off. It was a lost cause, because it could be anywhere. So needless to say Dusty was mad at the jeweler because I obviously can't replace the sentimental value of the original pearl, but they put a new one on there for me and I have it back. It's still very special and I wear it every day. It sucks my grandma never got to meet Dustin, she would have LOVED him!!! Damn it, I'm welling up just typing this.
So I will end on an awesome note....we close on our new house tomorrow!!! So excited to get to work!

Forced Blog

Because I don't want Heather to yell at me anymore, I will post a short blog. I haven't been blogging in the evenings because for this week, Dusty is on first shift so we're home together at night and I'm not bored to death. Therefore my blog has suffered.
Today is Administrative Assistants Day, which I find gay, but I'll get a free lunch out of it tomorrow from my boss and the peeps I work with. Speaking of work, yesterday one of my "bosses" shot me in the thigh, at point-blank range, with an air rifle. My God, it hurt like a biotch!! I have a huge welt that is starting to bruise. It's not pretty. Guess it was my initiation. I made the mistake of telling Dusty this story. Some of you might be saying, "Why? Did he get pissed at the guy and want to kick his butt for shooting you, the one he loves so much??" Yeah, not so much. He got mad because WE have an air rifle and he has wanted to shoot me and I never allow it. Now because the dude at work shot me, he has informed me that he gets to shoot me too. Aint love grand?? :)

Am I stupid??

Ok, usually I tend to believe I am pretty computer literate. I've been using them all my life and I'm good at trying things until I get the result I want. So WHY, pray-tell, can I not figure out this bloody blog? I want a list of my friends blog sites on my page but I can't figure out how to do it! I want to add a picture of Dusty and I but I can't figure out where to go. HELP ME.....

In the meantime, tonight was eventful. I attended the city meeting welcoming our new mayor to office, my father-in-law (to be) Mell. That was fun. Dustin had to work so I represented. Here is a picture of father and son making home-made whiskey in my kitchen. Ark City is in good hands! :)

My First B to the log!

I'm so excited to write my first blog although I have absolutely nothing of interest to write about! Went to the casino tonight for matchplay....came back w/$25 more than I went there with. We had a really fun weekend. Friday night we went to Ponca City to watch Shannon's husband, Ryan, play at a bar/restaurant. He did well and we had a good time. Dustin was so excited for Saturday to come, he could hardly stand it. One of his Marine buddies he hadn't seen in 10 years was passing through Kansas and stopped here for the evening to catch up and drink (go figure). Another good time although the two Marine's had a bit too much to drink. I knew the SoCo shots were a bad idea. We had to stop and let his buddy puke on the highway. It was a time!So that's about it for the first blog. I'm not even gonna attempt putting cute little clip art on here yet! Hope this will suffice. If not, I'm sure Heather and Christina will let me hear about it!! :)
